Ottawa’s New Art Festival has now come and gone and we are still recovering. (I didn’t appreciate just how much work was involved with the set up and tear down of the display.)

A tale of two tents...

Scenes from the New Art Festival - inside the tent
As per usual, family saved my skin – this time by helping with all of the set up and closing on both days of the Festival, which involved an awful lot of wrapping, unwrapping, heavy lifting and hauling – so my special thanks to my sisters Valerie and Cathy, my nieces Anna and Francesca, my brother-in-law Daniel, and of course my daughter Kara and wife Sherry. You all saved my a$$.
Despite inclement weather the mood at the Festival was upbeat, with lots of visitors stopping to enjoy the work – thanks to all of you for braving the weather. It was wonderful as well to meet a terrific collection of artists, including Sara Chivot, Lisa Brunetta, Andrew King, Louis Helbig and Mike Yang . My work also received the Festival’s award for Best Photo-Based Work – thank you to all of the judges and to the award’s sponsor, the School of Photographic Arts: Ottawa (SPAO).

More views of the Tents...
For those of you who missed the Festival, the pieces I had on display that weekend, along with other samples of my photography, are available for viewing on my web site.
Cheers…
